Greenland - List of Champions 
It first organised a football championship in 1954/55 and continued to organise the event until 1970, usually announced as Fodboldturneringen, Grønlandturneringen or Fodboldmesterskab i Grønland. Only since the late sixties it was possible to organise the competition annually; before it was held only once every three years or so, with a single tournament sometimes lasting a year and a half.
On 4 July 1971 a football specific federation, the GBU (Grønlands Boldspil-Union), was founded, which took over the organisation of the tournament.
