1935

The 1935 Philippines Football Championship featured two foreign teams, the Singapore military side Malaya Command and a selection from the N.I.V.B., the federation of the Dutch East Indies which had made a favourable impression at the 1934 Far Eastern Games in Manila. Due to internal conflicts within the N.I.V.B., the 16 players came mostly from Soerabaja (though without Tiong Hoa players, as this club had been excluded by the N.I.V.B.), with 3 additional players from both Malang and Makassar (which provided both goal keepers and the centre forward).

Visayas FPL Tournament

PFF planned to start this regional tournament in first quarter 2009; eventually not held

Mindanao FPL Tournament

PFF planned to start this regional tournament in second quarter of 2009; eventually not held

NB: the FPL was discontinued after the above shambles in its first season; afterwards,
the AFC were reportedly trying to set up a 'viable' national league in the framework
of the "Vision Philippines" programme; workshops were apparently held to "begin the
process of charting a bold new future for the sport" in the Philippines, starting
with the province of Cebu as a "pilot project"; obviously this led to nothing and
instead a new Manila-based league was set up (United Football League) for the 2009/10
season while no national tournament was organised until 2011, sponsored by Smart.
