- Was supposed to be played in Kuwait in October
- Khor (Qatar), UAE and Oman representatives withdrew
- Qualified: Al-Ahli (Bahrain), Al-Qadisiya (Kuwait)

Zone 2 (Red Sea)

- Representatives: Al-Ahli (Saudi Arabia), Zamalek (Egypt),
                   Al-Merreikh [Omdurman] (Sudan), Al-Ahli [Sana] (Yemen)
- Will be played in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) between 18/11 and 22/11
- No representatives from Djibouti, Somalia and Comoros Islands.
- Zamalek withdrew
- Two teams will qualify

                   Al-Olympique (Libya)
- No decision was taken for date of the this group.
- No representative from Algeria
- FC Nouadhibou withdrew, so Club Africain and Al-Olympique qualified

Zone 4 (East Region)

- Representatives: Al-Tadamon (Lebanon), Al-Aqsa (Palestine), 
                   Al-Hussein (Jordan), Al-Wahda (Syria)
- Matches were to be played in Syria in July 2002
- Al-Aqsa qualified directly to the finals due to difficulties to 
  participate in the qualifying matches
- Al-Tadamon withdrew, so Al-Wahda and Al-Hussein qualified
